![]() Services for Charles Martin will be held on Monday, August 7, at Scioto UMC, 3230 Lemert Rd., Bucyrus, Ohio. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Charles David “Dave” Martin, and grandsons, Aaron Miller and Ryan Martin. At home, he was an avid reader of American history and enjoyed studying family history and attending reunions.Ĭharles is survived by children, Debra (Jerry) Stoffl of Aurora and John (Patty) Martin of Bucyrus grandchildren, Amie (Brian) Caldwell, Eric Martin Wade, Jared Althouse, Tyler (Brittany) Althouse, Jerry (April) Stoffl, Christopher Stoffl, Britten (Tessa) Martin, Shelby Martin, and Bethany (Kyle) Rall 16 great grandchildren brother, James (Beverly) Martin sister, Carol Ann (DeMont) Sponseller along with many extended family. And who could forget the memorable encounter with a bear that Charles caught on film? Mostly, they loved to eat out and had several favorite restaurants they found on their journeys. When visiting Georgia, they attended church and sat in on President Carter’s Sunday School class. He and Jannetta loved to travel and went all over the United States with Amish country and the Smoky Mountains being favorite destinations. Charles was very outgoing and could talk to anyone. In addition to Charles’ full-time work on the Martin Family Farm, he was a welder, worked at Swan Rubber, and was an insurance adjuster.
